About Dogs and Cats and their Buddies. And other quick jokes.

Previously posted on my Facebook Page.

HOW do dogs interact with other dogs? Pheromones, glandular secretions, barks, whines, yips, growls, body postures, etc., all serve as effective means of communication between dogs. And lately, by way of Facebook, Twitter/X, and TikTok. 🐕🫂🐕‍🦺

ACCORDING to breakup coach Chelsea Leigh Trescott, a good rule of thumb to follow is that it's fine to break up with a text if you've only been on three to five dates. At that stage, there's probably no need for a long discussion because you don't have much of a history yet. But, according to Fizz The Wiz, if a couple has been together for at least 10 years, a text wouldn’t suffice. Write an email, instead, with lots of emojis, stickers, and TikTok attachment. 😌📲😭

“PICKED UP for another season.” Most times, this means a show is picked up by a cable channel or other network and put back into production. Or simply, the show has another season planned. Just like a relationship. If your relationship isn’t picked up for another season, you go pitch it again on Tinder with a revised script or story treatment. ☝️🤝☝️

WHEN it's time to toss your boxes in the recycle bin, always remember to leave one box or two for the boss koolcat. Cats can find cardboard boxes comforting because they find safety in enclosed and dim spaces. Boxes are also very sacred to shinobi cats. Be sure to remember this. Save those boxes. You don’t want your cat stealing your neighbor’s Amazon boxes and dumps the contents in another neighbor’s garbage bin. 🐱📦🐱

AS reported in a 2018 HuffPost Canada story, reading to babies during their early infancy, boosts language, vocabulary and literacy skills. These benefits are still evident up to four years later. Until parents got into TikTok. Mom and dad and kids now dance to Taylor Swift and Bad Bunny before bedtime. 📚👶📖

BIRDS like worms for their protein and easy availability. Ground feeders find that birds are particularly favorable to their feeding habits, as all they need to do is poke their bills into the earth to dig them out. Now you know why snakes prey on baby birds? Snakes believe worms are their people, Fizz The Wiz told me. Revenge. 🐦🪱🐦

SOME dogs (like Arrow The Good Doog) seem less interested in images than other stimuli. With 220 million olfactory receptors in the canine nose--compared with a mere 5 million in a human--a dog may be far more intent on the scintillating scent of scat or poop–or food–than a friendly face on a phone. So to entice Arrow to a photo-shoot, I spray my cellphone with the scent of ElleVet Mobility premiumPlus+ treat. 🐕📸🐕‍🦺

THE employer decides what you can and can't do for every minute they're paying you. That's kind of how employment works. They can also tell you not to use social media while you're on the premises, even if you're on unpaid break time. Yet studies say 8 in 10 employees use social media at work, often through their personal phones. Employers use them, too, to send an IM, video, or photo to their dog and cat at home. 👁📲👀

IT is quite common for cats to steal things. After all, they are very well equipped with their excellent night vision, ability to walk silently and mischievous ways! Their other unique abilities as natural ninjas: Disguise techniques, fast running, fake breathing, ninja walk or “shinobi aruki,” stealth prowess, invisibility, shapeshifting, teleportation, the ability to "split" into multiple bodies or “bunshin,” mastery of the spring weapon, and summoning of animals a.k.a. “kuchiyose.” 🐱👣🐱

ARE your cats playing or fighting? How can you tell? <>Intensity. Play is loose and bouncy, and less tense than fighting. <>Claws. These are generally retracted during play and come out during a fight. <>Turn taking. Chasing and pouncing is more equal during play, and more one-sided when fighting. <>Ask them. They will tell you. 🐈😸🐈‍⬛
